In 1957 Tang Yong Sau (Tolerant Long Life), with the help of his wife opened the shop in one of the oldest parts of Amsterdam, selling Chinese arts and crafts. Not long thereafter, due to demand from the growing Chinese population in the Netherlands, Chinese foodstuff became part of the selection of goods that were sold. In 1972, his son and his son’s wife took over the business and entered a time of growth. In 2010 the third generation, Tang Yong Sau’s grandson and wife, took over and hope to keep helping people to find that taste of Asia.
Over the years the shop steadily grew bigger and so did the selection of the products that were offered. We now have more than 6 floors and several showrooms filled with products from the Orient. We sell foodstuff (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, Indonesian, etc.), kitchenware, ceramics, furniture, books, music and restaurant decoration material amongst other products through retail and wholesale. In 2010 our cooking studio was opened to give workshops for all the people who want to learn to cook Asian dishes. Since 2012 we also feature Le Fou Fow, a ramen shop offering authenthic Japanese noodle soup, dumplings and more. Both our workshops and the Le Fou Fow are hosted on the second floor, Le Fou Fow during the afternoon and workshops during the evening.
Our customers come to us from all over Europe, be it resellers, foodservice or private people. They come to us, because we offer them great service and the biggest selection of products from the East.
