The idea to set up a company like Kales Airline Services was born in the mind of its founder, Peter Kales, in 1994. He wanted to start a cargo intermediary that offered superior service through dedicated personal care and attention. Superior service because when taking on a consignment, he was making a promise that was to be kept. Armed with a wealth of experience in the business, Peter rented 20 m2 of office space at Schiphol Airport and dispatched what in the industry has become a legendary fax to all his contacts. It read: “A new day, a new week, a new month and a new company.” Within a month Kales Airline Services won its first exclusive contract to sell the lowerdeck cargo space of an airline in the Dutch marketplace and the company has enjoyed sustained, often rapid growth ever since.
Today, Kales Airline Services has over 30 offices in more than 20 European countries, as well as offices in
Mumbai, Toronto, Quito and Bogota. Representing more than 90 airlines, handling 250,000 tons of cargo and
over 100,000 passenger tickets per annum, Kales Airline Services has become something of a
household name in the global GSSA industry.
The Kales Airline Services scope of activities has broadened over the years. Besides acting as GSSA for air cargo, Kales Airline Services is also a GSSA for passengers and charters. Kales Airline Services has firm roots in Dutch business culture and its head office can be found at Schiphol Airport, Europe’s thirdlargest cargo hub.
